Enjoy the sunrise.Explore the trails around Nagarkot.Choice of day rides ending at the medieval town of Bhaktapur for is an old restored city full of temples and courtyards. Also it?s possible to visit Changu Narayan, a must for those interested in culture ? the ancient temple complex here, which includes the Oldest Hindu temple in the valley where in the sixth & seventh centuries, Newari stone masons made carvings of Lord Vishnu. The stone table standing on the west side of the temple is said to be the earliest known inscription in Katmandu Valley. It depicts King Mandev?s military conquests in the fifth century. It?s on the way and enjoys commanding views over the valley and its fine statues are the best outside the National Museum. Nagarkot is situated northeast of Kathmandu valley (2175 meters), about 10 kilometers from Bhaktapur town and just an hour's drive from Kathmandu. It has been a weekend spot for mountain viewers in quite and comfort. The sunrise and sunset from this hill resort present you the breathtaking view (subject to weather condition) of the Himalayan ranging from Dhaulagiri (8167 meters) in the west to the Mt. Everest(8848 meters)in the east, including Mt. Lang tang (7246 meters) and Mt. Ganesh (7406 meters).Nagarkot was about an hour and a half journey outside Kathmandu, so it was lovely to see all the Nepalese countryside - lots of lovely quaint little houses and paddy fields.At Nagarkot, visitors can wind down and enjoy the mountain views, take up a day hike to nearby villages, go mountain biking or simply soak in the comforts of hotel. After breakfast, you can have a village walk in Nagarkot to see the surrounding countryside with beautiful mountain views of Lang Tang Range. You can experience the Rural Nepal without going too far and too high.
